There is a hidden R2-D2 in JJ Abrams’ Star Trek.
Check out the image below of an R2-D2 floating in space during one of the battles.
George Lucas’ Industrial Light & Magic did the visual effects on Star Trek, which was released on DVD/Blu-ray this week, and they like to insert the iconic Star Wars droid into their work. (They did it in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen as well — see here.)
