Amazon Kindle Fire

The Amazon Kindle Fire ($199) was announced today. Packing a dual-core CPU, Gorilla Glass coated multi-touch 7″ IPS panel and an Android OS, the 14.6 ounce device is all about content.

This Kindle lacks a camera, mic and 3G connectivity, but if you are looking for an iPad alternative, this may be the way to go.

The Kindle Fire touts lightning quick access to the Amazon App Store, a “turbo” web browser based off of Amazon’s cloud servers and Whispersyncing with Amazon’s arsenal of books, movies and music.

This is the Kindle for accessing movies, TV shows, music, books, magazines, apps, games, and web browsing!

  1. I ordered one! I figure I’ve got 5 weeks to change my mind.

I’m tempted to wait a generation or two though…
