Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi classic E.T. The Extra Terrestrial is finally coming to Blu-ray on October 9th to coincide with the film’s 30th anniversary. The classic film will be also return to theaters for one night only on October 3rd.
Fathom Events has just announced a collaboration with Turner Classic Movies and Universal Pictures to put a digitally remastered version of the film back in theaters, and it will be the original cut that hit the big screen in 1982.
The film, playing at 2pm and 7pm local time at 560 theaters (check here for ticketing information) will have a special introduction by Turner Classic Movies host Ben Mankiewicz who talks about the making of the film, including how Spielberg came up with the idea. In addition, Drew Barrymore has also shot a special segment reflecting on the film 30 years later.
