Tomorrowland Coming To Blu-ray & Digital HD October 13, 2015


Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will release director Brad Bird’s family adventure Tomorrowland on Blu-ray Combo Pack, Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere (DMA) on October 13, 2015.

From the two-time Oscar winner, Bird’s Tomorrowland offers a riveting mystery adventure starring Academy Award-winner George Clooney. Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” What they must do there changes the world – and them – forever.

Featuring a screenplay by “Lost” writer and co-creator Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird, from a story by Lindelof & Bird & Jeff Jensen, Tomorrowland promises to take audiences on a thrill ride of nonstop adventures through new dimensions that have only been dreamed of.

The film also stars Hugh Laurie as brilliant scientist David Nix, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key and Thomas Robinson.

Tomorrowland is produced by Damon Lindelof, Brad Bird and Jeffrey Chernov and directed by Brad Bird, with John Walker, Bernard Bellew, Jeff Jensen and Brigham Taylor serving as executive producers.

Pixar’s Inside Out Coming To Blu-ray & DVD On November 3, 2015


Walt Disney Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack (3D/2D Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD), Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD), and single disc DVD releases of Pete Docter’s Inside Out.

The 3D and 2D Blu-ray Combo Packs will include:

– Riley’s First Date? (In-Home Exclusive Animated Short Film) – Riley, now 12, is hanging out at home with her parents in San Francisco when potential trouble comes knocking: a boy shows up at the door. Can Mom and Dad’s emotions handle “Riley’s First Date?”
– LAVA (Theatrical Short Film) – Inspired by the isolated beauty of tropical islands and the explosive allure of ocean volcanoes, LAVA is a musical love story that takes place over millions of years. (Available in 3D on the 3D Combo Pack)

– Mixed Emotions – Inside Out’s filmmakers talk about how they decided which emotions to focus on in the story and how they went about creating each one’s distinct personality and visual identity

– Our Dads, the Filmmakers – Elie Docter (daughter of director, Pete Docter) and Grace Giacchino (daughter of composer, Michael Giacchino) bring you behind the scenes for an inside look at the making of the film.

The Star Wars Saga to Be Released In Limited Edition Blu-Ray Steelbooks On November 10, 2015

As fans count down the days until the long-awaited seventh episode of the Star Wars saga, they’ll have something else to look forward to as the first six will be released as commemorative Blu-ray steelbooks for a limited time on November 10, 2015 with pre-orders beginning on August 7. Each film comes with beautiful new character packaging that include Darth Maul for The Phantom Menace, Yoda for Attack of the Clones, General Grievous for Revenge of the Sith, Darth Vader for A New Hope, an Imperial stormtrooper for The Empire Strikes Back, and Emperor Palpatine for Return of the Jedi. Star Wars: The Complete Saga will also be released in newly-repackaged artwork on October 13.

In addition to the collectible steelbook packaging, each Blu-ray disc features existing audio commentary with George Lucas and the film crew as well as audio commentary from archival interviews with the cast and crew.

Each cover looks like they’ve been airbrushed by a magic wand. The seams, the tattoo patterns, and the little cracks making their down the skull-like forehead tell so much without a single word accompanying them. Imperfections never looked so perfect.

The Complete Saga includes all six feature films on Blu-ray, along with three additional discs containing more than 40 hours of previously-released extensive special features.

The Collected Works of Hayao Miyazaki Blu-Ray Set Due On November 17, 2015


Due out exclusively from Amazon on November 17, 2015 The Collected Works of Hayao Miyazaki contains each of the Visionary’s eleven feature films: Lupin the Third: The Castle of Cagliostro, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Porco Rosso, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Ponyo, and The Wind Rises.

But the highlight for those who already own all of these films on Blu-ray will be the set’s bonus features, including Yuki no Taiyo (Yuki’s Sun) — a 1972 television pilot based on a manga by Tetsuya Chiba that was directed, storyboarded and animated by Hayao Miyazaki. The set also contains three episodes (26, 27, and 41) of the 1972 anime series Akado Suzunosuk (Little Samurai), featuring storyboards by the filmmaker. Fans will also get the uncut version of Miyazaki’s Retirement Press Conference, which was thankfully not the final page in his career. The whole package is rounded off with a book featuring The Great Dichotomy: Looking at the Works of Hayao Miyazaki by Tomohiro Machiyama, which “explores the themes and techniques of this revered Japanese filmmaker, and selected text from Hayao Miyazaki’s initial notes and creative proposals for the production of each film.”

Mad Max: Fury Road Blu-ray Combo Pack Debuts September 1, 2015 & Digital HD On August 11, 2015

In the end, only the mad will survive when “Mad Max: Fury Road” arrives onto Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on September 1 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker George Miller (“Happy Feet”) and starring Tom Hardy (“The Dark Knight Rises”) in the title role and Oscar winner Charlize Theron (“Monster,” “Prometheus”) as Imperator Furiosa, “Mad Max: Fury Road” is the fourth film in the franchise’s epic history. The film will available early on Digital HD starting on August 11.

Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Village Roadshow Pictures’ “Mad Max: Fury Road” also stars Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”) as Nux; Hugh Keays-Byrne (“Mad Max,” “Sleeping Beauty”) as Immortan Joe; and Nathan Jones (“Conan the Barbarian”) as Rictus Erectus. Collectively known as The Wives, Zoë Kravitz (“Divergent”) plays Toast; Riley Keough (“Magic Mike”) is Capable; Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (“Transformers: Dark of the Moon”) is Splendid; supermodel Abbey Lee is The Dag; and Courtney Eaton is Fragile. “Mad Max: Fury Road” will be available on Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack for $44.95, Blu-ray Combo Pack for $35.99 and 2-disc DVD for $28.98. The Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack features the theatrical version of the film in 3D hi-definition, hi-definition and standard definition; the Blu-ray Combo Pack features the theatrical version of the film in hi-definition on Blu-ray; and the DVD features the theatrical version in standard definition. Blu-ray 3D Combo and Blu-ray Combo Pack include Digital HD with UltraViolet. Fans can also own “Mad Max: Fury Road” on Digital HD via purchase from digital retailers.

Also available on September 1 will be the “Mad Max 4-Film Blu-ray Anthology.” The anthology includes “Mad Max” (1979), “The Road Warrior” (1981), “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome” (1985) and “Mad Max: Fury Road” on Blu-ray disc. The anthology also includes the documentary “Madness of Max” on DVD along with “Mad Max Anthology” trading cards and will be available for $89.98.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced the Blu-ray release of Nakatomi Plaza: Die Hard Collection, a Limited Edition release of all five Die Hard films in a Nakatomi Plaza replica housing. The set is due on October 13, 2015.
