Required Reading, Gallery1988’s show in partnership with Skylight Books, will open on Friday December 6, 2013 at G1988 (West). All of the prints were inspired by literature. The show opens at 7PM. The exhibition will run until December 22, 2013.
It’s that time again. Tomorrow for Halloween, Gallery1988 will release the newest Scott C Showdowns set, this one is the first Horror edition ever!
The gallery has sold out of over ten editions so far, and now the tradition keeps going.
There will be 100 sets, each print signed and numbered by Scott, only $65 for the whole thing. Each is 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches and you get 5 prints in the set. The set includes prints featuring The Thing, The Fly, Hellraiser, Halloween and The Shining.
These will be released tomorrow, Oct. 31st, at gallery1988.com.
The “Crazy 4 Cult: Say Hi To The Bad Guy” art show will open on Friday October 18, 2013 from 7-10PM at Gallery1988 In Los Angeles. The show will run until November 9, 2013.

Mike Mitchell just announced an upcoming show at G1988 (West) that he’ll be curating. The show will celebrate the past, present and future of space exploration and the awesomeness that is the universe.

Bobak Ferdowsi, flight director on the Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity mission will be the special guest on opening night.

Brogan has a signature style that combines nostalgia and vector for impressive limited, and affordable, edition giclee prints. This will be his largest body of work yet, and Glen will be in attendance for the reception tomorrow night.
IMAX collaborated with Paramount Pictures, Bad Robot and Gallery 1988 to unveil the first edition in the series: a special Star Trek Into Darkness print from artist Mark Englert. Fans attending the 8pm IMAX show on Wednesday, May 15th at participating locations will receive this original print.

Gallery1988 (West) is proud to present its newest exhibit, “The Official Bad Robot Art Experience,” that will open next Friday, April 26th with an opening reception from 7-10 PM. Working in conjunction with JJ Abrams & his production company, the gallery has enlisted a gigantic group of artists to create original artwork (paintings, prints, sculptures & plush) to tribute the movies, TV show and iconic logo of BR. You’ll see artists tackle Alias, Fringe, LOST, Person of Interest, Cloverfield, Super 8, Star Trek and much more, resulting in some of the most exciting and innovative work yet.
The Official Bad Robot Art Experience will take place at G1988′s newest location at 7308 Melrose Ave and run through May 18th.
Also, 10% of the show’s proceeds are going directly to The Mission Continues, an incredible charity that works with veterans hoping to become community leaders.
Is This Thing On #2 Too: A Tribute To Saturday Night Live opened at Gallery1988 West last night. The theme of the show was kept under tight wraps until patrons entered the gallery.

Gallery1988 will open its newest location, G1988 (East) at 7021 Melrose (on the corner of Melrose La Brea) this Saturday night, March 9th, from 7-10 PM.
The first show will be a screenprint group exhibit called “Product Placement,” featuring limited edition pieces that advertise and celebrate objects from movies and TV shows that don’t actually exist in real life.

Gallery1988‘s next show at G1988 (Melrose), and their last before they move to 7308 Melrose, is going to be stunning. Two of their favorite artists, Justin Santora and JC Richard, will be debuting new works, both original and screenprint.
The show opens next Friday, March 1st, from 7-10 PM, and will be on display until March 23rd.
