Kotobukiya’s ARTFX+ Hulk Statue To Be Released In March 2014

Marvel Comics is the next great property to get Kotobukiya’s ARTFX+ statue treatment, and so of course the first series is none other than the Avengers, specifically the characters as they appear in Marvel Now.

In 2012 the comic book company relaunched several titles, shifting some characters into different books and updating some for a modern audience.  More than anything, it provided a perfect jumping on point for new readers. Now the characters are brought to life as never before based on concept artwork by superstar artist Adi Granov.

For the very first Avengers ARTFX+ release… well, he’s big, he’s green, and he’s always angry… it’s the Hulk!

Bruce Banner was a scientist studying the effects of gamma radiation when he was caught in an explosion. Rather than destroy him the energies transformed him into the massive green-skinned Hulk! The Avenger stands in a classic comic book pose, angled to the side and leaning forward with his arms outstretched. The Hulk has his leading hand open as though to taunt his enemies, though his right hand behind him is balled into a fist to deliver a mighty blow! The Hulk is fantastically detailed with intricate musculature down to his sinews and veins, and the harsh grimace on his face shows off the rage he can’t keep bottled up in battle. Banner’s alter ego wears his traditional tattered purple pants (no Hulk would be complete without them), and his skin is expertly painted with varying shades of green.

The massive Hulk ($65) stands just barely under 10 inches tall (in the ARTFX+ 1/10th scale) on his included magnetic display base and will arrive in stores in March 2014. Hulk will be joined by his fellow Avengers with upcoming releases Hawkeye, Black Widow, Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor, so get him to begin your collection!

Following the recent releases of classic DC Comics characters in the full size ARTFX Statue scale (including Batman Black Costume and The Joker), Kotobukiya returns to the Man of Steel for a special presentation portraying an iconic appearance: Superman For Tomorrow! In the 2004-2005 twelve issue story arc written by Brian Azzarello, Superman faced some of his most difficult times as he investigated the worldwide Vanishing, dealt with an alternate reality Earth, and faced off against mysterious villains. “For Tomorrow” is most famous for its incredible artwork by DC superstar Jim Lee, and that is the inspiration for this all new statue.

Superman stands in a powerful pose straight out of the movie’s trailers, half crouching with his arms curled and fists clenched. The Kryptonian is coiled and ready to spring into action, muscles taught beneath his suit… and what a suit it is! The Man of Steel film version of the iconic Superman costume combines the traditional comic book elements with futuristic materials and textures, melding it together into a sleek outfit that looks really cool.

Expertly recreated for this statue, the hero’s suit is intricately sculpted to capture all of the subtle textures as well as the bold elements like the chest logo, boots, and piping effects. Equally impressive is the lifelike Henry Cavill as Superman head sculpt, powerful, serious, and otherworldly. Kotobukiya Presents The Hulk Classic Avengers Fine Art Statue

The Hulk has been a staple superhero of the Marvel Comics universe for years, battling foes across the universe in epic storylines. Mild-mannered scientist Dr. Bruce Banner was experimenting with highly volatile gamma radiation when an explosion bathed him with that green energy, transforming him into the enormous aggressive powerhouse known as the Hulk. As the massive creature Banner has been a menace to humanity as well as one of its greatest heroes, and in that respect has served with distinction among Marvel’s premiere champions.

Celebrating his look in those comics comes an incredible brand new Kotobukiya Fine Art Statue, Hulk Classic Avengers! The massive Hulk leaps straight off the pages of Avengers comics in all of his green skinned glory! The powerfully built hero stands on cracked and broken terrain, flexing his enormous muscles as he prepares to charge once more into battle against those who would threaten the Earth.

The Hulk statue was sculpted by artist Erick Sosa. The figure stands on his special terrain display base in the same 1/6 scale as his fellow Avengers. Whether he’s standing by himself in your display or alongside the Fine Art Statues of his teammates Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, and Hawkeye, the mean green machine is sure to impress.

The Hulk Classic Avengers fine art statue will be available in October 2013.
