Gallery 1998 has announced a Clue Art Show opening on June 26, 2015. The show will feature art inspired by your favorite murder mystery.

The opening reception will be held from 7-10 PM and the show will run until July 11, 2015 at G1988 West.

The Usual Suspects 20th Anniversary Screening With Special Guest Kevin Pollak At The Vista Theatre On June 12, 2015

The Usual Suspects

The Vista Theatre in Los Angeles will host the 20th Anniversary Screening of The Usual Suspects with special guest Kevin Pollak on June 12, 2015.

Once a month the Nerds Like Us series takes over the lovely Vista Theatre, one of the last remaining single-screen art-house theatres in LA. They bring back 80s and 90s classics for a night of fun with other people who appreciate this era.

The Usual Suspects stars Kevin Spacey, Kevin Pollak, Gabriel Byrne, Benicio Del Toro, Stephen Baldwin, and is directed by Bryan Singer and there will be a Q&A with Hockney himself- Kevin Pollak!

Tickets will be $11.50, sold online and at the box-office on-site.

The Good Dinosaur Teaser Trailer

The first teaser trailer for Disney Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur was released today. Directed by Peter Sohn and produced by Denise Ream, The Good Dinosaur opens in theaters on November 25, 2015.

The Good Dinosaur asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of.

The film is set to feature the voice talents of Lucas Neff, John Lithgow, Frances McDormand, Bill Hader and Neil Patrick Harris.

Peter Sohn made his directorial debut with the Pixar short film Partly Cloudy. He has worked in the art, story and animation departments, and also has voiced the characters of Emile from Academy Award- winning Ratatouille and Scott “Squishy” Squibbles from Monsters University.”

Denise Ream produced the Golden Globe-nominated film Cars 2 for Pixar Animation Studios, and served as associate producer for Disney Pixar’s Academy Award-winning film Up. She also has an extensive background in producing visual effects and animation for live action films.

The Good Dinosaur opens in theaters November 25, 2015!

The Trailer For Steve Jobs

Universal Pictures has debuted the very first teaser trailer and image of Michael Fassbender as Steve Jobs, the late Apple founder and CEO, in the movie from Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle, which co-stars Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, Jeff Daniels, Katherine Waterston and Michael Stuhlbarg.

Written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, the official plot summary is as follows: “Set backstage at three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac, Steve Jobs takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter.”

Kate Winslet stars as Joanna Hoffman, former marketing chief of Macintosh. Steve Wozniak, who co-founded Apple, is played by Seth Rogen, and Jeff Daniels stars as former Apple CEO John Sculley. Katherine Waterston plays Chrisann Brennan, Jobs’ ex-girlfriend, and Michael Stuhlbarg is Andy Hertzfeld, one of the original members of the Apple Macintosh development team.

Steve Jobs is scheduled for release on Friday October 9, 2015.

Check Out The New Ant-Man Poster

Marvel Studios has unveiled the latest poster for a small hero with the official theatrical one-sheet for Ant-Man.

Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd (This is 40, They Came Together), Evangeline Lilly (LOST, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies), Corey Stoll (This is Where I Leave You, Non-Stop) and Michael Douglas (The Game, And So It Goes) and brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Also starring are Judy Greer (Archer, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Bobby Cannavale (Chef, Blue Jasmine), Michael Pena (End of Watch, Fury), Martin Donovan (Inherent Vice, Insomnia), Wood Harris (Dredd, Remember the Titans), John Slattery (Mad Men, Iron Man 2), Gregg Turkington (Gravity Falls, The Comedy), Abby Ryder Fortson (Togetherness, The Whispers), David Dastmalchian (The Dark Knight, Prisoners) and T.I. Sony Announces Animated Spider-Man Film From The LEGO Movie’s Phil Lord & Chris Miller

On July 20, 2018, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the directors of The LEGO Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and 21 and 22 Jump Street, are taking Spider-Man back to his graphic roots with the first-of-its-kind animated Spider-Man feature, it was announced today at CinemaCon by Tom Rothman, chairman of the Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group. The film will exist independently of the projects in the live-action Spider-Man universe, all of which are continuing.

Lord & Miller are masterminding the project, writing the treatment and producing the film.

As previously announced, Spider-Man will next appear in a live-action Marvel film from Marvel’s Cinematic Universe (MCU). Sony Pictures will thereafter release the next installment of its $4 billion Spider-Man franchise, on July 28, 2017, a live-action film being produced by Kevin Feige at Marvel and Amy Pascal, who oversaw the franchise launch for the studio 13 years ago. The animated film from Lord & Miller, dated July 20, 2018, has Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Pascal also serving as producers.

Spider-Man, embraced all over the world, is the most successful franchise in the history of Sony Pictures, with the five films having taken in more than $4 billion worldwide.

Watch The New Tomorrowland Trailer

Walt Disney Pictures has released a new Tomorrowland trailer featuring brand-new footage from the Brad Bird-directed film.

In addition, Disney has officially announced that a special presentation of the film, featuring more than six minutes of footage to be introduced by director Brad Bird, will screen exclusively in IMAX theatres domestically and in select international markets beginning May 1. The extended first look of Tomorrowland will screen directly prior to Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron and will play for the duration of that film’s run in IMAX.

From Disney comes two-time Oscar winner Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland, hitting theaters May 22, a riveting mystery adventure starring Academy Award-winner George Clooney. Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” What they must do there changes the world – and them – forever.

Featuring a screenplay by “Lost” writer and co-creator Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird, from a story by Lindelof & Bird & Jeff Jensen, Tomorrowland promises to take audiences on a thrill ride of nonstop adventures through new dimensions that have only been dreamed of.

The film also stars Hugh Laurie as brilliant scientist David Nix, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key and Thomas Robinson.

Tomorrowland is produced by Damon Lindelof, Brad Bird and Jeffrey Chernov and directed by Brad Bird, with John Walker, Bernard Bellew, Jeff Jensen and Brigham Taylor serving as executive producers.

Back in Time, A Documentary About The Lasting Impact of The Back To The Future Trilogy

Back in Time is a forthcoming documentary by Lawrence, New York-based filmmaker Jay Aron that intends to go beyond the standard behind-the-scenes approach by offering a look at the surprisingly long-lasting impact of the beloved 1980s sci-fi comedy film trilogy, Back to the Future. The documentary looks at superfans and includes interviews with key members of the cast and crew like Robert Zemeckis, Michael J. Fox, Bob Gale, Christopher Lloyd, and Lea Thompson. The film is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.

Batman ’89 Print By Casey Callender

Wow, I was blown away by this incredible depiction of The Dark Knight from Tim Burton’s groundbreaking film and had to share it with my readers!

Casey Callender will sell this ’89 Batman print at WonderCon in Anaheim, CA next month.

The 18 x 24 print will be a WonderCon edition only and will come in an edition of 300 priced at $35 per print. The 24 x 36 prints, which do vary ever so slightly in design, will drop online and will come in an edition of 250 priced at $57 per print. Both editions come with or without credit blocks, your choice.

Here is what Casey had to say about the print:

“One of the other powerful visual elements of the ’89 Batman that stuck out for me were when Keaton would throw down smoke deterrents and disappear into the shadows….always stuck with me, so that was the basis for the print..that and well, …bats”

The Peanuts Movie Debuts Four New Character Posters

20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios have debuted four new character posters for the upcoming The Peanuts Movie! Check out new designs featuring Linus, Lucy, Charlie Brown and Snoopy!

In the film, Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle – and flying ace – embarks upon his greatest mission as he takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis The Red Baron, while his best pal, Charlie Brown, begins his own epic quest. The Peanuts Movie comes from the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the Ice Age films.

The most popular and influential comic strip of all time, “Peanuts” was read every day by 355 million people in 75 countries.
