Next week’s theme on American Idol (April 14, 2009) will be “Songs From The Movies“. The Top 7 American Idol finalists (Kris Allen, Anoop Desai, Matt Giraud, Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert and Lil Rounds) will perform songs of the cinema under the guidance of director Quentin Tarantino in an “Idols at the Movies” theme next week.
Tune in on Wednesday, April 15 to find out if the judges use their save or if America sends another finalist home. Also, Season Three finalist Jennifer Hudson returns to the IDOL stage to perform her new single, “If This Isn’t Love,” and Miley Cyrus will sing “The Climb” from “Hannah Montana: The Movie.”
Should be an interesting theme.
I’m not much on Adam, but he should shine once again.
I lean toward Matt and I know he’ll be able to find something to sing that will allow him to incorporate his soulful spice into it. I think Matt really has the best voice going as far as popular radio marketability is concerned. Adam will probably win, but I really look to hear Matt on the radio one of these days down the road.
After Matt I go with Kris, Danny, Lil, Anoop, Allison, and Adam….in that order
I am a huge Adam fan. Anything from “Twilight” would be perfect for him. The music is gorgeous and he has been compared to the maile lead, Edward. Probably too new for copyright clearance, tho–but he would bring the house down.
Adam reminds me of Elvis in his 1969 concert on TV.
Adam is the best I have seen on AI from any season. Adam is Thee Bomb…the Adam Bomb! The complete package and someone who truly entertains! Simon, you Rock for giving him a standing O! That was Sooo Right on!
I think Adam has a beautiful, unique voice. However, I feel that he is not a good role model for kids to look up to. The winner of American Idol needs to be not only the best singer, but someone who will better represent America and the American dream. Danny Gokey is an amazing singer and a good rolemodel. Lately he’s been picking the wrong songs! He needs to pick something like “Kiss from a Rose”, something that will show off his soulful voice again. I feel he is getting worse each week. He needs to step up his game if he wants to beat Adam.
The Joel guy is an idiot… His bottom two are by far the best two. There is no one in this competition or past competitions that has the talent that Adam has. And Allison is wonderful. She is only sixteen and has one of the strongest voices I have ever heard. Would love to hear her sing some Ethridge, Sinead O’Connor, or even stevie nicks.
Amanda, I would assume you’re referring to the fact that Adam is gay? You don’t pick the winner of the a SINGING competition by how he is as a role model. And it’s not like he’s been flaunting his sexuality every week, I’ve never actually heard him say it. I don’t care if he’s gay, all I know is that he’s the best thing AI has talent-wise.
Gosh, I really hope that Amanda isn’t saying that Adam isn’t a good role model because he’s gay.. Wow. What does his sexuality have to do with him being a great role model. Does that mean you don’t think Ellen DeGeneres is a good role model because she’s a lesbian? Adam is an amazing singer and would represent America great if/when he wins American Idol.
I totally agree Adam is awesome and his sexuality should not matter… Its a singing competition and he personality is the best!!

There is only one person that deserves to Idol title this year…Adam for sure. He has more talent than anyone I’ve ever seen..Truly reminds me of a combo of all the great artists from Elvis to Led Zepplin but all packaged into one young man…Wow! A very lucky guy gay or not…Who cares..xxx000
I think I’m the only one who dislikes Adam. I think he sings well but wont make it as an actual artist. It seems like he doesnt know who he actually is to me. And since he’s an actor its understandable. I think he’s made up too much and hiding himself. Not saying he isn’t a good singer, just saying I don’t think he’ll do much outside of idol.
I enjoy Chris and Danny. Danny is my favorite since day 1 and I’ll stick with him. But I think Chris was a sleeper and really shined when it came to the actual show.
