It’s game time. This week is big for gamers of all ages. Sunday saw the release of New Super Mario Bros. Wii. With four player, co-op mushroom stomping action, it definitely packs tons of fun and should be familiar to anyone who’s picked up a controller in the last twenty years. But Mario and Luigi won’t be the only Italians vying for your hard earned buck this week.
Assassin’s Creed II lands on shelves on Tuesday. Set against a jaw-dropping background of Venice during the Renaissance, it lets players enter a secret order of killers with a code of honor. As an added bonus, you get to receive missions and gear from Leonardo Da Vinci himself. Eat your heart out, 007.
Finally, the zombie apocalypse is nigh as Left 4 Dead 2 rises from the grave. Offering players an incredible experience by thrusting them into the role of four strangers who are forced to stick together to survive the undead hordes, this should be a staple in any horror fan’s entertainment collection.
A few more titles worth mentioning this week: Tony Hawk Ride, the God of War Collection redux for PS3, LittleBigPlanet on PSP, and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles on Wii.
The real question is, after all the big games of the last few weeks and Black Friday sales drawing near, will anyone have any money left for gifts this season?
