Nexus One Phone (The Google Phone)

Just when you thought you were all ready to plunk down your holiday gift cards toward a new iPhone, Google comes out of a left field with a scrappy alternative. Built by HTC, the Nexus One Phone ($529 unlocked; $179 with T-Mobile contract) sports a 3.7-inch OLED display, a fast 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, and a 5-megapixel camera with flash. On the software side, the much-rumored Google phone runs the powerful Android 2.1 OS, and adds stuff like a voice-enabled keyboard, dynamic noise suppression from Audience, Inc., Live Wallpapers, a 3D photo gallery, and a plethora built-in Google apps.
