Cover to Stephen King’s American Vampire # 2

American Vampire issue #2 will be available on April 21st, 2010.  The 40 page Stephen King scripted comic’s plot is as follows:

It’s been nearly 20 years since notorious outlaw Skinner Sweet was buried on boot hill. But when a group of grave-robbing collectors of Western memorabilia uncover his final resting place, they find much, much more than they bargained for. And: Pearl Jones was attacked and left for dead by a cabal of powerful Hollywood vampires. Now, a mysterious stranger comes calling and Pearl gets a second chance at life – and at revenge.

Martin Scorsese Could Direct An Adaptation of Brian Selznick’s The Invention of Hugo Cabret

Martin Scorsese is in talks with GK Films to direct an adaptation of Brian Selznick’s best-selling children’s book, The Invention of Hugo Cabret. Variety says the project will likely Scorsese’s next.

The novel centers on an orphaned boy who secretly lives in the walls of a busy Paris train station and looks after the clocks. He gets caught up in a mystery adventure when he attempts to repair a mechanical man.

“Hugo Cabret” won the Randolph Caldecott Medal in 2008 for the most distinguished American picture book for children.

Chris Wedge (Ice Age) was previously attached to direct the film. John Logan (Scorsese’s The Aviator) wrote the script.

GK Films will independently produce the live-action feature and is in discussions with a number of studios including Sony and Paramount about distributing. Shooting is scheduled to start on June 1st in London.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Movie Trailer

The film adaptation of the book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid film chronicles the adventures of middle school students Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon) and Rowley Jefferson (Robert Capron) over the course of an academic year, as told through Greg’s diary and hand-drawn cartoons. It is due to be released on April 2, 2010.
