David Sedaris Story Gets Adapted for Film

Back in 2002, David Sedaris’s Me Talk Pretty One Day was going to be turned into a movie, when the humorist, essayist, and memoirist pulled the plug because his family wasn’t particularly amped on being the subject of a major motion picture.

Now, one of Sedaris’s stories will finally be adapted for the big screen, by screenwriter and director Kyle Patrick Alvarez. The essay, “C.O.G.” (Child of God), from the collection Naked, traces Sedaris’s adventures cutting stones into clocks the shape of Oregon. We hope, somehow, Alvarez finds a way to make use of Sedaris’s uncanny talent for impersonating of Billie Holiday.
