In 1969, a young Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers to you and me) appeared before the US Senate to oppose strict budget cuts for public television by President Nixon. And he won them over with, you guessed it, lyrics to a special song.

  1. Ah yes, saved the wonderful propaganda machine known as PBS, sure things like Sesame Street and Mr. Rodgers were great things to have on television, but the ‘news’ reporting on PBS is straight corporate propaganda. Don’t want to upset those underwriters!
