Little Tikes Picnic on the Patio Playhouse

The nice folks at Little Tikes sent us a Picnic on the Patio Playhouse (SRP $319) to review and our 2 year old daughter, Elli was the official tester.

The playhouse arrived in a single large box and took about 30 minutes to assemble. A cordless drill and 3 AAA batteries were all that I needed. It was very easy to put together and the instructions were simple to follow. The completed playhouse measures 37″H x 73.25″W x 47.5″D and weighs 75 pounds.

The sturdy colorful playhouse has a kitchenette with pretend burners as well as a working door, mail slot and picture windows. The interior plastic is molded to provide the impression of an oven, cupboards and fireplace.

A patio table connects to the playhouse and includes 2 small benches. A window allows your child to pass meals from the kitchen to guests at the table.

A 19-piece accessory set of play food, tableware and pretend phone are included.

An electronic doorbell makes 6 fun sounds and provides a sense of realism to the playhouse.

Our daughter absolutely LOVED the playhouse and played in it for hours. She enjoyed all of the picnic accessories, the phone (although she expected it to actually work) and the doorbell. She pretended to cook meals and serve food. It was hard to tear her away from the toy home at dusk and when she woke up the next morning, her first words were, “Elli’s house?”.

The Little Tikes Picnic on the Patio Playhouse is a wonderful plaything that will stimulate imagination and play while promoting sharing. Kids between the ages of 1 1/2 to 5 will spend many hours enjoying this safe and fun “starter home”.

  1. Awesome! Especially the part about your kid getting to test it out! I wish I could get one of these in Brazil. Little Tikes, come down here please!
