New Publication Date & The Front And Back Cover To Steve Jobs Biography By Walter Isaacson

The publication date of Steve Jobs upcoming biography written by Walter Isaacson has now been pushed forward to November 21, 2011.

The cover is described by Isaacson as follows:

“The cover is the Albert Watson portrait taken for Fortune in 2009. The back is a Norman Seeff portrait of him in the lotus position holding the original Macintosh, which ran in Rolling Stone in January 1984. The title font is Helvetica. It will look as you see it, with no words on the back cover.”

Based on more than forty interviews with Jobs conducted over two years as well as interviews with more than a hundred family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues this book chronicles the roller coaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing.

According the book’s overview as submitted by the publisher, Jobs has cooperated with the book and has not asked for any control over the final product. He has reportedly left no topic off-limits for the book and has not even requested the right to read it before publication, suggesting that the book will yield the most open look at Jobs’ personal and professional life yet published.

  1. I for one am looking forward to reading this book. The man is a genius and nearly (and arguably) single-handedly changed the way the world communicates with each other within his life time (witness the iPhone and iPad).

His drive and work ethic is something we should all aspire to follow.
