Apple CEO Tim Cook will unveil the iPhone 5 at a special media event early next month, according to a new report. AllThingsD reports that Apple will hold the media event on Tuesday, October 4, with the iPhone 5 available for purchase “within a few weeks” thereafter. The report goes on to state that it will be Cook onstage for the unveiling and will likely preside over Apple media events going forward.
