Young Adult Blu-ray Due On March 13, 2011

Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment will bring Young Adult to Blu-ray on March 13. Directed by Academy Award-nominee Jason Reitman (Up in the Air) and written by Academy Award-winner Diablo Cody (Juno), this dark comedy stars Charlize Theron (Monster) as Mavis Gary, a semi-successful author of young adult fiction who returns to her hometown in order to romantically reconnect with Buddy Slade (Patrick Wilson, Watchmen), her high-school sweetheart.

As Mavis attempts to lure Buddy away from his wife (Elizabeth Reaser, Twilight), she starts receiving unwanted advice from former classmate Matt Freehauf (Patton Oswalt, Ratatouille), who forces Mavis to confront the large discrepancy between reality and her twisted perception of it.

Paramount’s Blu-ray/UltraViolet Digital Copy combo pack presents the film in its 1.85:1 original aspect ratio with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track.

The disc also contains the following supplements:

– Commentary by director Jason Reitman, director of photography Eric Steelberg, and first assistant director/associate producer Jason A. Blumenfeld

– Two behind-the-scenes featurettes: Misery Loves Company: The Making of Young Adult and The Awful Truth: Deconstructing a Scene

– Q&A featuring critic Janet Maslin and Jason Reitman at the Jacob Burns Film Center

– Deleted scenes
