The Full New Trailer for The Bourne Legacy

Universal Studios has released the official trailer for The Bourne Legacy. Set in the same world that Matt Damon’s popular Bourne Trilogy occupied, this thriller stars Jeremy Renner (The Town) as Aaron Cross, a troubled young man who becomes a covert CIA assassin.

After Bourne’s Manhattan exploits – documented in The Bourne Ultimatum – put the CIA’s “asset” development program in the media limelight, the program’s head executive (Edward Norton, Fight Club) begins violently eliminating all traces of its existence, including the highly skilled Cross. However, Cross eludes his initial pursuers, and along with a frightened scientist (Rachel Weisz, The Fountain) also targeted by the cover-up, sets off on a globe-spanning mission to expose the truth.

Filmmaker Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton) handles the screenwriting and directing duties for this entry, which boasts an impressive supporting cast that includes Bourne veterans Scott Glenn (Training Day), David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck), and Joan Allen (Pleasantville), as well as franchise newcomers Corey Stoll (Midnight in Paris), Donna Murphy (Spider-Man 2), Oscar Isaac (Drive), and Stacy Keach (Escape from L.A.).

The Bourne Legacy’s U.S. release date is scheduled for August 3rd, 2012.
