Apple announced it will release Mountain Lion, the newest version of its Mac OS X, on Wednesday.
Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer announced the news early on during Apple’s third-quarter earnings call, simply saying the latest operating system will be released Wednesday without going into further detail.
Mountain Lion will be available for download through the company’s Mac App Store for $19.99.
Any users who purchased a Mac on or after June 11 will be eligible for a free upgrade to Mountain Lion.
