October 10th Declared “Arrow Day” At Comic Book Retailers Across The U.S.

DC Entertainment and comic book retailers across America have deemed Wednesday, October 10 “Arrow Day” to celebrate the arrival of Warner Bros. Television’s highly anticipated new show Arrow, airing Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW. Fans who visit their local comic book retailer on October 10 will receive a free Arrow #1 Special Edition custom comic book that is the perfect companion for the show’s premiere that night.

The Arrow #1 Special Edition offers a past and present glimpse of billionaire Oliver Queen. And as an added bonus, readers will get a six-page preview of Green Arrow #0, highlighting the DC Comics character who inspired the new show. In addition to the free comic, DC Entertainment is also providing comic retailers with Arrow promotional posters and bags.

In addition to the free custom comic available at comic book retailers, on October 10 fans can also download the first chapter of the new Arrow digital comic book series written by show Executive Producers Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg. Legendary Green Arrow comic book writer and artist Mike Grell is on board to draw the first two covers, and Sergio Sandoval and Jorge Jimenez have been tapped to do artwork in subsequent chapters. The weekly series will also be collected in print with three digital chapters on sale in one print issue starting on November 28.

The Arrow premiere celebration doesn’t end on October 10. Arrow will be present at New York Comic Con in a big way, with a special video presentation and cast/producer Q&A in the IGN Theater on Sunday, October 14 at 11am. The panel will be followed by a signing at the DC Entertainment booth #1238 at 12:30pm.
