Today Hero Complex Gallery announced “Oscar Legends!” and “Weapon of Choice, Phase 2!” art exhibitions scheduled for February.
Two art exhibitions will be under one roof, with the opening reception scheduled for Friday, February 15th, from 6-10pm, at the SOMArts Cultural Center.
On one side of the gallery “Oscar Legends” will feature art inspired by some of history’s most groundbreaking Oscar-winning films such as Annie Hall, Batman, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Usual Suspects, Chinatown, Casablanca, Pulp Fiction and American Beauty. Longtime film and art-lover, Rotten Atom, has graciously agreed to help curate the show.
On the other side of the gallery will be “Weapon of Choice, Phase 2!” The Weapon of Choice show in January proved to be such a huge hit with the fans that additional artists wanted to contribute to this eclectic theme. New subjects will be tackled by Craig Drake, Blunt Graffix, Godmachine, Nicole Gustafsson, Chris B. Murray, Paul Shipper, Marie Bergeron, Joey Spiotto, Alex R. Kirzhner, and David Welker.
In addition to the SF showings, Hero Complex Gallery will be exhibiting the “Oscar Legends” artwork in Portland, Oregon at the famous 86 year old grand movie house, The Hollywood Theater. Oscar Legends will be on display during the theater’s annual Oscar Night Gala on Sunday, February 24th from 3pm until the doors close.
