Owen King’s Debut Novel, His Book Tour & The Mysterious Chapbook, “Special Features & Deleted Scenes.”

Owen King’s debut novel, Double Feature will hit stores on March 19, 2013.

Here is the synopsis:

“Endearing, irascible Sam Dolan is a young filmmaker with a big father problem—that is, his dad, B-movie actor Booth Dolan, has a personality that’s a big problem. But Sam finds even more trouble when his first film, a magnum opus called Who We Are, is mysteriously, and irrevocably, altered in editing. When Sam throws away the only known copy of the altered film, he sets in motion events that will dog him for a decade. His horribly revamped movie turns up in the mid-2000s and becomes a cult hit, as Sam, permanently disappointed, goes from clerking in a Brooklyn video store to working as a wedding videographer. During one long weekend in 2011, Sam comes to terms with his father and his messy life—with the help of a wry and determined producer, Sam’s foul-mouthed kid sister, Mina, and Wesley Latsch, his odd, housebound best friend/roommate.”

The author will be touring to promote the new book and you can see his appearances HERE.

To sweeten the pot, King has been cooking up a bonus that fans will be sure to enjoy.

A special chapbook designed by Amanda Spielman entitled, “Special Features & Deleted Scenes.” has been created that includes a couple of scenes cut from the novel, as well as a hodgepodge of “special features,” facsimile documents that relate to the lives and careers of the characters in the book – an interview, encyclopedia entries and a few other curiosities.

One of the coolest aspects of the chapbook is that it includes a download code for the new 6-song EP from Owen King’s friends Timothy Bracy and Elizabeth Nelson Bracy, the rock and roll nomads behind a hot new band called the Paranoid Style.

Follow Owen on Facebook and twitter as he will be announcing a bunch of giveaways. The generous author will also be giving away the chapbook at the bookstores that he visits in March and April. The Paranoid Style will also be giving chapbooks away – like them on Facebook to increase your chances.

Supplies are limited and the chapbook won’t be for sale.
