Philippe the Original, Los Angeles: French Dip
This cash-only Chinatown deli hasn’t changed much since it opened in 1908. Philippe’s claims to have invented the French Dip and the specialty of the house takes thinly sliced meat double-dipped in its juice, served on a crusty french roll and finished with beyond-hot mustard. Make friends and eat in at one of the communal tables.
