DC Comics Jumps Forward 5 Years With The Weekly The New 52: Future’s End

DC Comics will be publishing a new weekly comic book series titled The New 52: Future’s End.  Written by Jeff Lemire, Dan Jurgens, Keith Giffen and Brian Azzarello The New 52: Future’s End is set five years in the future.

Launching in stores across the country on Free Comic Book Day in May 2014, this series will be accessible to current fans and new readers alike.

“Really, what we’re trying to do with this book is to explore the nature of what a hero is and we’re doing that, obviously by playing with the future of the New 52 timeline,” Lemire told the AP News. “Past present and future all colliding in this story line.” The series begins with issue #0 and will be illustrated by Ethan Van Sciver.

Additional artists on the weekly series will include Jesus Merino, Aaron Lopresti and Dan Jurgens, with more artists coming and going as the series progresses.
