Artist Randall Rosenthal carves and paints solid blocks of wood into astonishingly realistic sculptures of paper objects.
At first glance you would think that your are stumbling upon boxes of rare comic books and baseball cards but after close inspection you will see the detail, care, time and artistry that went into each piece!
After graduating from the Carnegie Institute of Technology in the late 1960s Rosenthal opened his first exhibition of surrealist paintings, a direction he pursued until the late 80s. His focus then shifted to architectural design and next into the realist sculptures he creates today.
His sculptures can be purchased through the Bernaducci Meisel Gallery in New York City.
