20 Must-Try Hot Dogs in America

Hot dogs are near and dear to many Americans’ hearts – particularly this time of year, when warm nights beg for a couple of franks of the grill. But how you define a hot dog may differ vastly depending on whether you’re in, say, New Jersey, West Virginia, or Chicago: The brand of dog, the type of bun, and everything that goes on top is likely to vary. Is the hot dog steamed or grilled? Are the buns toasted?

Men’s Journal suggests 20 must-try hot dogs in America and you can check out the list HERE.

Old-School Chili Dog (Pink’s, Los Angeles)

The classic chili dog combines ground-beef chili with mustard and onions – and maybe a few slices of American cheese.

Where to Get It: When it opened as a 10-cent hot dog stand in 1939, the owners of Pink’s, in Hollywood, could never have imagined the unrelenting lines and sheer variety of wieners for which the place is known today. Never mind all that – chili dogs are what Pink’s started with, pairing all-beef, natural-casing dogs by Hoffy’s with meaty chili in a soft steamed bun.
