The popular TV drama ‘Homeland’ returns to the screens for another season. In celebration of the start of season four of the series starring Claire Danes in the role of a mentally unstable CIA officer, the betting company Ladbrokes has designed some exclusive playing cards featuring some of the show’s characters such as Brody and Carrie as the Royal cards.

King

The King card features an illustrated version of Nicholas Brody. Played by Damian Lewis, Brody was supposed to be a temporary character according to the Sydney Morning Herald. Brody is a sergeant in the U.S. Marines who was captured by al-Qaeda. He spent eight years as a prisoner of war and upon his release he returns to the US. Carrie suspects him of having been turned into an al-Qaeda operative. Brody has trouble reconnecting with his wife and his two children. He becomes Carrie’s love interest before leaving the series at the end of season 3.

 Queen

The Queen card pays tribute to bipolar protagonist Carrie Mathison, played by Claire Danes. Carrie is a very intelligent, intense CIA officer who suspects Brody of being an al-Qaeda terrorist. She tries to find proof for her suspicion but the two end up getting romantically involved. The card features a saxophone, thus alluding to Carrie’s love for jazz and the unpredictable and messy way in which her mind works.

 Jack

The Jack card is dedicated to Saul Berenson in the form of two USB sticks. Saul, played by Mandy Patinkin, is the Middle East Division Chief at the CIA. He has been with the CIA for over 35 years. Saul deeply cares for Carrie, whom he considers to be his protégé. Despite her odd methods, he stands by her and protects her whenever he can. He is married to Mira but because Saul usually puts his work before his family, their relationship isn’t always easy.

Ace

Seeing as the whole series is about a CIA officer and her work it isn’t surprising that the Ace playing card is dedicated to the American intelligence-gathering agency CIA. An eagle is prominently displayed in the middle of the card.

The beautiful playing cards were especially designed in celebration of the latest season of the popular show. You can take a closer look at the ‘Homeland’ playing cards on the Ladbrokes website. It also features playing card sets of other popular TV series such as ‘Game of Thrones’.
