Gallery 1988 announces their most explosive, and technically biggest, show of the year: the annual art exhibit that spawned a million galleries – Crazy4Cult. Entering it’s 9th year, this installment may just be the best ever. With a line-up that consists of 219 artists, the pieces for this show are outstanding. Even with almost 10 years in the books, artists are finding new and creative ways to put a creative spin on their favorite cult movie classics.
The exhibit, originally the first of it’s kind, will feature paintings, prints, sculptures and plush depicting characters, scenes and iconic imagery from your favorite flicks. This year the show standards are still represented, like Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Edward Scissorhands and The Goonies – but new additions like Spaceballs, Clueless and Weird Science found their way into the hodgepodge of influence.
The tradition will open this Friday, November 20th, from 7-10 PM at G1988 (West), 7308 Melrose Ave. This show will be on display until Dec 5th. Artwork will be available first at the gallery Friday night, but then online to purchase, at gallery1988.com, Saturday, November 21st.
