There are many exclusive pleasures to be had while attending San Diego Comic Con (July 21–24)–you get to see never-before-revealed footage from upcoming films and are allowed access to new details about your favorite comic books. You attend panels full of creative luminaries that give you a peek at the process behind your favorite pop culture. And you get to see lots of people rocking truly mind-boggling cosplay costumes (seriously–the most creative person in all of Comic Con might be the guy who fashioned a remarkably intricate Baymax costume all by himself). Another huge highlight: the shopping.
There are tons of exclusives that can be found on the convention floor during San Diego Comic Con. And one of the premiere shopping destinations at San Diego Comic Con is the Mondo booth (#835). Mondo, is, of course, one of the premier providers of pop culture-inspired coolness. They started out doing limited edition prints for cult favorite movies, and have since moved into apparel, toys, and vinyl records.
This year at San Diego Comic Con, they’re debuting a series of Inside Out 7” vinyl records, containing segments of Michael Giacchino’s score. Each record will have the main theme (“Bundle of Joy”) and an additional track from Giacchino’s flawless score for the Disney•Pixar classic, as well as exclusive artwork from Phantom City Creative that plays off a classic album cover (including: Isaac Hayes’ Joy, Hole’s Live Through This, Joni Mitchell’s Blue, and the Smashing Pumpkins’ Siamese Dream). Also, each album will have an exclusive colorway that goes along with whatever character it’s associated with. These are beautiful. They’re also funny and clever and totally brilliant. Just like the movie. We love them so, so much.
