Let’s Help Author Brad Meltzer Get This Amelia Earhart LEGO Set Made!

The LEGO Ideas platform has made wonderful LEGO sets from franchises such as Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, WALL-E and The Bing Bang Theory come to life. The site accepts submissions from fans, and if a concept projects get enough supporters—10,000 to be exact—it moves onto a review from LEGO. Set designers and marketing representatives from LEGO evaluate the idea, and after that, the project could become a set on shelves. Author Brad Meltzer’s “I Am Amelia Earhart” set hopes to earn that honor.

Amelia Earhart was a girl who loved adventure, and never let anybody stop her from trying new things. Even things that girls had never done before—like flying all the way across the Atlantic Ocean. Eventually she broke flying records and proved to the world that women can soar just as high as men.

Based on the bestselling book series by Brad Meltzer and Chris Eliopoulos, this set consists of the bright yellow biplane that Amelia Earhart bought for herself. She named it Canary (which is a cool name for a plane, right?).

Plus, you get an Amelia Earhart minifigure!

This set has a wonderful educational value, but it’s also downright fun. Fly! Zoom! And of course, soar! The presented set consists of 186 parts. The true goal is to then give fans the rest of the heroes in the book series: I am Abraham Lincoln, I am Rosa Parks, I am Albert Einstein, and so many more…

Like the book says: I am Amelia Earhart. I know no bounds. And I hope you’ll remember that the greatest flight you’ll ever take is the one no one has tried before.

This project is a collaboration between Ellen Kooijman (Alatariel) and Brad Meltzer.

Please support the project HERE if you’d like to see it as a real product and let’s shoot for 10,000+ supporters! Help give your kids real heroes!
