CBS announced that a Big Bang Theory farewell special is on the schedule and Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki, who play Penny and Leonard in the comedy, will serve as hosts.
The special will be a 30-minute retrospective titled Unraveling the Mystery: A Big Bang Farewell and will air at 9:30 p.m. following not only the hour-long Big Bang Theory series finale (8-9 p.m.), but also the Young Sheldon season two finale (9-9:30 p.m.).
CBS revealed that hosts Galecki and Cuoco will “lead fans on a trip down memory lane, sharing some of the best-kept backstage secrets and personal memories from the past 12 years. They will reveal their favorite moments playing beloved characters Leonard and Penny, and revisit some of the most memorable stories from The Big Bang Theory Stage.” Fans will also watch clips and interviews and will even be given a tour of the sets, including Leonard and Sheldon’s apartment.
If that isn’t enough, on May 16, the cast will also appear on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, so fans will have multiple opportunities to say goodbye.
