Saved by the Bell Reboot Coming To NBC’s Streaming Service

NBCUniversal announced the inaugural slate of original programming coming to their new streaming service Peacock, among them a new reboot of Saved by the Bell!

Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley will officially reprise their roles for the new series which has Tracey Wigfield attached as writer and executive prodocuer. Peacock is in talks with other cast members like Mark-Paul Gosselaar to also return for the series.

“When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state – including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the over privileged Bayside kids a much needed and hilarious dose of reality.”

Peacock will launch in April of 2020 with both an advertising and subscription model available at launch. Other NBCUniversal shows set to stream on the service include Bates Motel, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Cheers, Chrisley Knows Best, Covert Affairs, Downton Abbey, Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, Friday Night Lights, House, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, The King of Queens, Married … with Children, Monk, Parks and Recreation (exclusive, available Oct. 2020), Parenthood, Psych, The Real Housewives, Royal Pains, Saturday Night Live, Superstore, 30 Rock, Top Chef, and Will & Grace.
