It’s been five years since it was first announced that John Turturro would reprise his greatest character, Jesus Quintana, in a spin-off from The Big Lebowski, entitled The Jesus Rolls, in which he is writing and directing and the teaser has finally arrived!
Written and directed by Turturro, the movie also serves as a remake for the 1974 movie Going Places from Bertrand Blier. The movie follows a trio of misfits whose irreverent, sexually charged dynamic evolves into a surprising love story as their spontaneous and flippant attitude towards the past or future backfires time and again, even as they inadvertently perform good deeds. When they make enemies with a gun-toting hairdresser, their journey becomes one of constant escape from the law, from society and from the hairdresser, all while the bonds of their outsider family strengthen.
Bobby Cannavale, Audrey Tautou, Jon Hamm, Susan Sarandon, and Pete Davidson also star in the movie.
The film will roll into theaters in 2020.
