California-based geologist Mike Bowers has discovered a rare and unusual looking rock that resembles the Cookie Monster.
The lump of volcanic rock was found in the Rio Grande dol sul region near Soledade in Brazil. On the outside, the egg-like rock looks fairly ordinary, however once split into two, the rock’s sapphire interior seems to form the instantly recognizable shape of Sesame Street’s cookie-loving monster.
Bowers shared that due to the rarity of the stone and its uncanny resemblance to the Cookie Monster, he has received many lucrative offers, with five people willing to pay upwards of $10,000 to acquire the lovable Sesame Street Muppet agate.
