Remembering Some of The Top Marvel Cinematic Universe Superheroes

The Marvel franchise has served up numerous treats over the years. From Captain America: The First Avenger to Avengers: Endgame, it is a truly epic series of movies to enjoy. They offer everything, too, from hard-hitting storylines to stunning, unadulterated action. With Loki’s very own show on the horizon, fans of Marvel are starting to prepare themselves for yet another Marvel feast.

A tricky character who is tough to read, Loki’s new series is expected to feature a number of mischievous moments as we enjoy Tom Hiddleston’s character in even more detail. Marvel’s selection of movies has certainly thrown up a number of memorable characters alongside the aforementioned Loki too. In fact, some of them have arguably made more of an impact than Thor’s brother.

As such, we have seen numerous spin-off games based on characters from the MCEU, including Marvel’s Avengers by Square Enix. You can argue that Marvel’s pull has made these games as recognizable as iconic games like Blackjack Surrender. This all accompanies the vast array of merchandise and spin-off series, like the popular WandaVision, which have registered big success.

With Loki’s new show expected to pull in the crowds once again, we thought we’d take a moment to remember some of the other superheroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Hawkeye/Clint Barton

Played by Jeremy Renner, Hawkeye tends to not receive as much love as some of the other superheroes in the Marvel series. Perhaps his arrow-slinging capabilities aren’t deemed original enough, especially when you factor in characters like Legolas and Katniss Everdeen from other movies, although he does definitely have his moments. Turning up out of the blue in Captain America: Civil War was a welcome surprise as he played his part in a truly epic battle scene.

Star-Lord/Peter Quill

With his odd personality and funny jokes, Star-Lord is impossible to ignore. A human in outer space, his 80s music obsession provides comical value throughout the movies he appears in. Not to mention his father, Ego, tried to have him killed. Still, the Sony Walkman survived and Star-Lord lived on to provide a number of laughs, particularly in Infinity War when he verbally batters Thanos before eventually ruining it at the crucial moment. Still, Star-Lord is the loveable idiot we couldn’t leave off the list.

Falcon/Sam Wilson

Featured more towards the end of the Marvel series, Falcon is as loyal as they come to Captain America and adds another important ingredient to the Avengers family. It’s in Infinity War where we truly experience Falcon’s strengths as he sees off the Children of Thanos and then later plays a major role in defence of Wakanda.

Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes

It feels like Winter Soldier falls under the radar a bit when assessing integral characters in the Marvel franchise, but there is certainly no underestimating the impact he made on a number of movies. Played by Sebastian Stan, Bucky Barnes’ backstory as a brainwashed soldier for Hydra added layers to an already likeable enemy. From that moment onwards, it was hard not to feel for him. The fact he eventually got to live a normal life and be himself was a nice moment, although we still aren’t sure what the future holds for Winter Soldier. Still, at least he’s no longer under the control of Hydra.

Rocket Raccoon

The Rocket Raccoon is definitely one of the funniest and most entertaining characters in a number of movies, although it’s in Infinity War where he really proves his worth. Helping Thor to activate the dying star, the Guardians of the Galaxy wouldn’t be the same without the cheeky little raccoon.

Special mention to Valkyrie, Black Panther, and Thor too.
