With only a week left to go before the highly-anticipated debut of Loki, Marvel Studios has released the behind-the-scenes featurette for Disney+’s newest MCU series, featuring some new footage of Tom Hiddleston’s return as the God of Mischief. The video features interviews from director Kate Herron and the main cast including Hiddleston and Owen Wilson as they talked about the new series, teasing its different story, action-packed scenes, and interesting characters. The upcoming Disney+ series is set to premiere next Wednesday on June 9.
In Loki, Tom Hiddleston returns to reprise his the fan-favorite role as the mischievous titular villain, who was last seen successfully escaping with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame, during Iron Man and Ant-Man’s failed attempt to retrieve it. Because of this, the God of Mischief has been arrested by the Time Variance Authority, a bureaucratic organization that exists outside of time and space, due to the damage he had done with the timeline. Now, he must willingly work with the TVA in order to fix the reality he broke or else face deletion from existence.
Joining Hiddleston in Marvel Studios’ third MCU series are Sophia Di Martino (Yesterday, Flowers, Into the Badlands), Owen Wilson (The Royal Tenenbaums), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Black Mirror: San Junipero), Cailey Fleming (The Walking Dead), and Richard E. Grant (Can You Ever Forgive Me?), Sasha Lane (American Honey) and Wunmi Mosaku (Lovecraft Country).
All upcoming six episodes of Loki are directed by Kate Herron from a screenplay coming from head writer Michael Waldron (Rick and Morty).
