The human body consists of approximately 70 percent water and so it is therefore super important that you drink enough of it in order to keep fit and healthy. The reason why the liquid is so important is because it plays a number of different roles within the body, including regulating your body temperature, maintaining blood pressure, managing the balance of electrolytes, promoting healthy cells, and lubricating your joints.
Whilst most people out there are fully aware of the importance of staying well hydrated, it can actually be pretty difficult to do so at times. This is why we have put together a list of helpful tips for drinking more water.
Drink A Glass Before Meals
By getting into the habit of drinking one full glass of water before each meal that you have throughout the day, you can significantly boost your water intake. For example, if you eat the average of three meals each day, then those additional three glasses of water equate to roughly 720 ml, although this does depend on the size of the glasses used.
An additional benefit to doing this is that it allows you to discern if you are hungry or not, as sometimes the human brain can and does mistake the feeling of being thirsty for hunger. By drinking a glass of water before every meal that you eat you will also consume fewer calories in total, meaning that you will lose weight, so it is win, win.
Have A Water Bottle On You
By having a reusable water bottle with you at all times throughout the day, you are much more likely to drink from it. The great thing about these is that there is so much variety in terms of style and design meaning that you can find ones to suit all occasions, such for running errands, school, work, around the house, or travelling.
They act as a visual reminder to whoever has it that they should drink water more often. For instance, if you see it sitting there on your desk or next to you on the sofa, you will be reminded constantly to drink from it.
If this sounds like a tip that you would like to utilise but do not have the necessity apparatus, then you can buy plastic water bottles in bulk here.
Eat Foods With High Water Contents
Although you are not technically drinking the water from food, it is an effective way of getting more of the liquid into your body. Most vegetables and fruits contain large amounts of water, although some of the best include cantaloupe (90 percent water), zucchini (95 percent water), celery (95 percent water), honeydew melon (90 percent water) watermelon (91 percent water), cabbage (92 percent water), and lettuce (96 percent water).
In addition to the high water content of each of these fruits and vegetables, they are also packed full of various antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins that are all really great for your health, so you will benefit in that respect also.
