Superman’s iconic motto, “Truth, Justice and the American Way,” is getting an official update for the first time in decades.
Today at DC’s FanDome, Chief Creative Officer and Publisher Jim Lee introduced a modern new slogan for the Man of Steel. Superman has long been a symbol of hope who inspires people, and it is that optimism and hope that will power him forward with a new mission statement: Truth, Justice and a Better Tomorrow.
In the first edition of “Superman: Son of Kal-El,” which features the son of Lois Lane and Clark Kent, Jon, as the new Superman and was published in July, Jon states that he stands for “Truth. Justice. And a Better World.” Saturday’s announcement establishes a more canonical change for the classic motto linked to Clark Kent’s Superman.
