Netflix has released several Stranger Things Season 4 images that tease the series’ return later this year.
The images show plenty of returning characters with new looks and a few newcomers to Hawkins, Indiana. The Stranger Things Season 4 release date will be split into two batches with the first releasing on May 27 and the second half on July 1. Additionally, a fifth and final season has been revealed to be in development.
Season 4 will find our favorite characters scattered throughout four different — but equally creepy — locations around the world, from snowy Russia to sunny California. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and the rest of the crew will have to work together to defeat an even more vicious supernatural force and put a stop to the Upside Down once and for all.
Season 4, Volume 1 picks up six months after the events of Season 3, which had our heroes battling the Mind Flayer in the middle of the Starcourt Mall, as one does. And the characters have come such a long way since we first met them in Season 1. The season will have a much darker, “horror movie” vibe.
The series currently stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Charlie Heaton, Sadie Sink, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, and Brett Gelman.
Season 4 will also introduce a number of new characters including Nightmare on Elm Street star Robert Englund as Victor Creel, Jamie Campbell Bower as Peter Ballard, Eduardo Franco as Argyle, Joseph Quinn as Eddie Munson, Sherman Augustus as Lt. Colonel Sullivan, Mason Dye as Jason Carver, Nikola Djuricko as Yuri, Tom Wlaschiha as Dmitri, Myles Truitt as Patrick, Regina Ting Chen as Ms. Kelly, and Grace Van Dien as Chrissy. Anne with an E star Amybeth McNulty has also been cast for the key role of Vickie.
Stranger Things is created and executive produced by Matt and Ross Duffer, who also serve as showrunners. Executive producers are Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Iain Patterson.
Seasons 1-3 are now available for streaming exclusively on Netflix.
