Check Out The Trailer For The Boys’ Dawn of The Seven Movie

Prime Video’s The Boys has released the trailer for the series’ in-universe Dawn of the Seven movie, which was filmed over the course of Season 2.

Shared on Vought International’s official Twitter account, the trailer features only five members of the Seven — Black Noir, Homelander, Queen Maeve, Starlight, and A-Train — as they battle against what appears to be the film’s primary antagonist, Stormfront. Described as “the most ambitious event in cinema history” and helmed by “acclaimed Director Adam Bourke,” Dawn of the Seven is a film is a reference to real-life films Justice League and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice from DC and Warner Bros. directed by Zack Snyder.

Along with the trailer, the tweet also includes a hashtag, #ReleasetheBourkeCut, a reference to the real-life fan campaign to #ReleasetheSnyderCut, calling for Warner Bros. to release Snyder’s version of Justice League. Snyder even shared the trailer himself, writing in the captain, “Congratulations to Director Bourke. Excited to see your vision realized.”

The Boys creator and showrunner Eric Kripke teased that Dawn of the Seven would release during the show’s third season, sharing a series of movie posters featuring Antony Starr’s Homelander and Erin Moriarty’s Starlight. In The Boys universe, Dawn of the Seven is produced by Vought Studios and is part of the Vought Cinematic Universe (VCU) and the filming of the movie was a large part of Season 2’s storyline.

The Boys is based on the comic series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson and the first two seasons of the show, created by Kripke, first aired on Prime Video. The Boys recently released the first teaser trailer for the long-awaited third season, which offered a first live-action look at Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, Laurie Holden’s Crimson Countess in action and Billy Butcher’s newfound superpowers. Season 3 has been teased as the bloodiest installment of the Prime Video series yet, with Kripke promising a mind-blowing premiere, calling the first episode the “craziest” thing the show has accomplished thus far.

Season 3 of The Boys premieres on Prime Video June 3. Seasons 1 and 2 will be available on DVD and Blu-ray May 31.
