3 Outdoor Home Improvement Projects To Do This Summer

Summer is in full swing, which for many homeowners means it’s the perfect time to make some renovations to the exterior of your home. While some home renovations can be done year round such as the installation of custom bathroom countertops, the warm summer months are the perfect time to tackle all the outdoor projects you’ve put off all winter. Exterior improvements will make your home look great while increasing its value. Here are a few of the most effective home improvement projects to do outdoors this summer.

Power Wash Your Home

If your home’s exterior is looking a little dull, it might be time for a power wash. If you don’t own a power washer, don’t fear – they can easily be rented from many hardware stores for a pretty fair price. Although it may not seem like it, power washing a home can be a surprisingly difficult job. While you can hire professionals to help you out, doing so can end up being pretty costly. Most homeowners are perfectly capable of using a power washer themselves – just be sure to watch a tutorial or two on YouTube first. Knock off the grime and dirt from your home with a powerful cleanse, and you’ll be thanking yourself for the rest of the year.

Replace Windows

The warm summer months are the best time to replace your windows. This  project shouldn’t be done during the fall or winter months as this could allow cold air into your home causing an increase in heating bills. Replacing the windows in your home can have many benefits, such as improving your home’s energy efficiency and can improve noise reduction from outside. Installing new windows is not an easy project and might require the help of a professional, but doing so can increase your home’s value immensely.

Plant A Garden

One of the most obvious outdoor projects for the summertime is planting a garden. Planting a garden is not only a fun and rewarding project that could end up adding curb appeal or value to your home down the line, but it is a great way for your family to save money on fresh produce and other groceries year round. Planting a garden is a summertime project that the entire family can get involved in. Plus, if you start your garden now, you might have some fall vegetables ready to eat in a few short months!
