After several years in development, it looks like the highly-anticipated fourth installment in the action comedy franchise Beverly Hills Cop is finally moving forward as production officially begins on the Netflix sequel.
The streamer has welcomed the addition of Inception actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zola star Taylour Paige, who will officially be joining Eddie Murphy in the upcoming Beverly Hills Cop 4 film.
The long-in-development fourth installment, which has now been titled Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley, is being directed by Mark Molloy from a screenplay written by Will Beall.
The original Beverly Hills Cop was released in 1984 and starred Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley, a cop from Detroit who visits Beverly Hills, California to solve the murder of his best friend. The film was a smash hit, earning more than $300 million at the box office and even earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. The film also spawned two sequels, which were released in 1987 and 1994.
