Ever wanted to go to space? Well, we can’t help you there. But we can help you with the next best thing: a trip to the set of Zack Snyder’s upcoming sci-fi epic Rebel Moon. Ten lucky fans will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Snyder’s newest galaxy in Los Angeles this year.
The contest is simple: Submit an original idea for an alien, creature, or mechanized character who might fit into the Rebel Moon world. How should it be designed? Up to you! Drawings, sculptures, graphic prints, paintings, sketches and more are all acceptable as long as they’re uploaded digitally as a JPG or PNG file.

Once you’ve turned in your design, the fun really begins. Rebel Moon’s Oscar-winning special makeup effects designer Justin Raleigh will select 40 of the designs as finalists. Fans will vote to determine the ultimate top 10 (additional details on how to vote to follow at a later date), all of whom will get to visit Snyder’s set. The grand prize winner will also be given a tour of Raleigh’s studio to see some of his work on the new film.
Rebel Moon is a Seven Samurai—inspired space epic about a distant galactic colony that comes under threat from the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius. Desperate to survive, they send a young woman (Sofia Boutella) on a mission to find allies that may be able to turn the tide. The film stars a murderer’s row of talent alongside Boutella, including Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Cary Elwes, Alfonso Herrera, Jena Malone and Sir Anthony Hopkins as (of course) the voice of sentient battle robot Jimmy. Snyder directs and produces alongside Deborah Snyder, and Wesley Coller. He co-wrote the script with Kurt Johnstad and Shay Hatten (Day Shift, Army of the Dead).
