California Pizza Kitchen’s Latest Menu Item Isn’t Pizza

California Pizza Kitchen has launched a burger for the first time in its 35+ year history. The new “West Coast Burger” rolled out across all CPK company-owned locations on October 4th.

The burger features an elevated beef blend of Wagyu, Chuck and Brisket, and is topped with melted cheese, Nueske’s applewood smoked bacon, caramelized onions, tomato, pickles, lettuce and house-made burger sauce on a brioche bun.

The chain bought flattop griddles for its kitchens to cook the patty at a high temperature and get an excellent sear.

Instead of fries, it’s served with fingerling potatoes that are cut in half and oven roasted, then smashed to a quarter inch and quickly fried.

The cost of the “West Coast Burger” is $17.99.
