McDonald’s Hamburglar Is Back!

McDonald’s Hamburglar is one of the most recognizable fast-food mascots. As the foil to the lovable Ronald McDonald, the mischief maker will stop at nothing to steal and hoard every last burger for himself. But for the past several years, the Hamburglar’s whereabouts have been unknown.

Now the cunning food criminal is back—and up to his usual antics.

McDonald’s has resurrected the thieving character to promote updates to its classic burger menu.

Improvements include:

– Softer, pillowy buns that are freshly toasted to a golden brown

Perfectly melted cheese that will make you want to savor every last bit off the wrapper

– Juicier, caramelized flavor from adding white onions to the patties while they’re still on the grill

– Even more of everyone’s favorite Big Mac sauce, bringing more tangy sweetness in every Big Mac bite

The burger changes are making their US debut this year. They’ve already started rolling them out in several cities on the West Coast, and customers will be able to taste the difference at all restaurants nationwide by 2024.

The Hamburglar was introduced in 1971 and has undergone a number of changes over the years, including reappearing as a fit dad to introduce the Sirloin Third Pound Burger in 2015. He last appeared as part of McDonald’s Cactus Plant Flea Market promotion last year.
