Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer are developing a new sci-fi drama titled The Boroughs for Netflix.

The new series will see Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance) act as showrunners on the project, with the idea for the series coming from the pair as well.
The eight-episode series will take place in a seemingly picturesque retirement community in the New Mexico desert and will revolve around a group of unlikely heroes who must band together to stop an otherworldly threat from stealing the one thing they don’t have: time.
The Boroughs is yet another project the Duffers are working on for Netflix alongside their list of growing works. Besides the upcoming fifth and final season of Stranger Things, the brotherly duo also recently announced a new animated series set in the world of Stranger Things, as well as a stage show and live-action spin-off series based on the hit franchise.
The pair are also working on an adaptation of Stephen King and Peter Straub’s The Talisman, as well as a live-action adaptation of the hit anime series Death Note.
