Kraven the Hunter is the visceral story about how and why one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be. Set before his notorious vendetta with Spider-Man, Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as the titular character in the R-rated film.
Kraven was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1964’s The Amazing Spider-Man #15 as a big game hunter summoned to Manhattan by his half-brother Chameleon after the supervillain master of disguise becomes frustrated fighting Spider-Man. After Spidey outmatches both of the supervillain siblings, Kraven swears revenge and makes it his life’s obsession to track down Spider-Man and kill him. This vendetta extends to Kraven becoming one of the founding members of the supervillain team the Sinister Six.
Directed by J.C. Chandor from a screen story and screenplay by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk the film also stars Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, Christopher Abbott, and Russell Crowe.
The hunt is on exclusively in movie theaters October.
