Suntup Editions To Publish Limited Edition Book Brother By Ania Ahlborn

Brother is the terrifying tale of a family’s disturbing traditions, and of one brother’s determination to break free from all he has ever known. In a crooked farmhouse off the beaten path and miles away from civilization live the Morrows. A band of eccentric recluses, the family keeps to themselves so as not to be questioned by local police when girls go missing from the side of the highway. But nineteen-year-old Michael Morrow is different. He derives no pleasure in the screams that echo through the trees.

Michael pines for a life of normalcy and to see a world beyond that of West Virginia. In the nearby town of Dahlia, Michael meets Alice, a pretty girl working at a record shop. He is immediately smitten, but his family is all too eager to remind him of the monster he is.

Hailed by critics as “impossible to put down,” Ahlborn delivers all the guilt, guts, and gore of family drama as Michael fights to attain the life he longs for.

It’s Garry Shandling’s Book

From Judd Apatow comes an intimate portrait of his mentor, the legendary stand-up comic and star of The Larry Sanders Show, with never-before-seen journal entries and photos, as well as new contributions by fellow comedians and writers.

Garry Shandling was a singular trailblazer in the comedy world. His two hit shows, It’s Garry Shandling’s Show and The Larry Sanders Show, broke new ground and influenced future sitcoms like 30 Rock and Curb Your Enthusiasm, and his stand-up laid the foundation for a whole new generation of comics. There’s no one better to tell Shandling’s story than Judd Apatow—Shandling gave Apatow one of his first jobs on The Larry Sanders Show and remained his mentor for the rest of his life—and the book expands on Apatow’s brilliant HBO documentary, The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling, which won the 2018 Emmy Award for Best Documentary.

Here, Apatow has gathered journal entries, photographs, and essays for a close-up look at the artist who turned his gaze back onto the world of show business to create a new language of comedy writing. Beyond his success, though, Shandling struggled with fame, the industry of art, and the childhood loss of his brother, which forever affected his personal and professional lives. A heart-wrenching letter to his brother—written in his journal as an adult—is the emotional center of this book that runs the gamut from hilarious observations to deep spiritual inquiry. His diaries show Shandling to be very self-aware and insightful, revealing a lesser known philosophical and spiritual side. Contributions by comedians and other leading lights of the industry, as well as people who grew up with Shandling and many who owe their careers to him, along with never-before-seen pieces of scripts that never made it to production and bits of stand-up from Shandling’s writing that he never performed, shed new light on every facet of his life and work. This book is a testament to the lasting impact of the great Garry Shandling.

The book will be released on November 12, 2019 and you can pre-order it HERE.

Watch The IT Chapter Two – Come Home Featurette

A new IT: Chapter Two featurette has been released featuring director Andy Muschietti promising to “crank up the horror” as novel writer Stephen King and the cast discuss how the sequel puts the characters front and center, making it a sort of “coming-of-age” tale.

The cast of IT: Chapter Two includes James McAvoy (X-Men franchise, Split) as Bill, Jessica Chastain (Crimson Peak, The Martian) as Beverly, Bill Hader (Barry, Trainwreck) as Richie, Jay Ryan (Beauty and the Beast) as Ben and James Ransone (Generation Kill) as Eddie, with Andy Bean (Here and Now) as Stanely Uris, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, Teach Grant (Altered Carbon, Damnation) as Henry Bowers, Jess Weixler (The Son, Chained for Life) as Bill’s wife, Xavier Dolan (Boy Erased) as Adrian Mellon, Will Beinbrink (Queen of the South) as Tom Rogan and, of course, the return of Bill Skarsgård as the clown Pennywise.

The second part is written by Gary Dauberman from the book by Stephen King. Muschietti, once again, is at the helm. The movie will arrive in theaters on September 5.

IT debuted in September of last year to the tune of $123.1 million on opening weekend, the highest opening weekend ever for a September release, for a fall release, and for a horror movie. It clocked in just $9 million behind Deadpool for the second-highest opening for an R-rated movie. The film earned over $700 million at the worldwide box office, making it the highest-grossing horror movie of all time.

Stephen King To Write New Ending For The Stand CBS All Access Series

CBS All Access shared that Stephen King will write the final chapter of The Stand, a coda not in his book about a plague-devastated world.

“The script for that final episode is written. I was glad Josh Boone gave me the chance, because that final story has been in my mind for 30 years,” King tweeted on Thursday.

The Stand, first published in 1978 is Stephen King’s apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil. The fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the 108-year-old other Mother Abagail and a handful of survivors. Their worst nightmares are embodied in a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers: Randall Flagg, the Dark Man.

James Marsden will portray Stu Redman, an ordinary working-class factory man in an extraordinary situation with a damaged quality to him that belies his exterior. Most recently seen on the hit dark comedy “Dead to Me,” Marsden’s other television credits include “Westworld” and “30 Rock,” and he will also appear in FX’s upcoming “Mrs. America.” In film, he will soon star in the live-action/animation hybrid film “Sonic the Hedgehog” and “The Comeback Trail” opposite Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman, Tommy Lee Jones and Zach Braff.

Amber Heard will play Nadine Cross, a deeply conflicted woman who feels the consequences of her actions, but is still compelled by her allegiance to Randall Flagg, the Dark Man. She recently starred in Warner Brothers’ “Aquaman” opposite Jason Momoa which was a massive box office success. She can currently be seen in Alex Ross Perry’s “Her Smell” alongside Elizabeth Moss. Other film credits include: “Justice League,” “The Danish Girl,” “Pineapple Express,” Magic MikeXXL,” among others. Additionally, Heard is an activist and uses her platform to advocate for human rights issues. She is an ambassador for Women’s Rights for the ACLU, a Human Rights Champion of the United Nations and is actively involved with SAMS (Syrian American Medical Society), The Art of Elysium, among other organizations. Heard is also a L’Oréal Global Spokesperson.

Odessa Young will play Frannie Goldsmith, a pregnant young woman navigating a strange new world, who also has the foresight to recognize that there is evil lurking beyond the Dark Man. Young will next be seen opposite Elisabeth Moss in the film “Shirley.” Her other film credits include “Assassination Nation,” “A Million Little Pieces” opposite Aaron Taylor-Johnson and “The Professor.”

Henry Zaga will portray Nick Andros, a young deaf and mute man who finds himself in a position of authority when the unthinkable happens. He has a habit of risking his own well-being for the safety of others. Zaga can be seen in the television series “13 Reasons Why” and the upcoming “Trinkets” as well as “Looking for Alaska,” which is currently in production. He will also be seen in Josh Boone’s “X-Men: New Mutants.”

Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) is co-writing the mini-series with Ben Cavell (SEAL Team), with Boone set to direct.

There’s no premiere date for the new series yet.

NOS4A2 Renewed For Season 2 At AMC

AMC’s NOS4A2 has been renewed for a 10-episode second season ahead of its season one finale.

The Season 2 news was revealed by the supernatural horror series’ stars Zachary Quinto and Ashley Cummings and executive producers Joe Hill and Jami O’Brien during the show’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday.

Based on Hill’s best-selling novel of the same name, NOS4A2 centers on Vic McQueen (Cummings), a gifted young woman who discovers she has a supernatural ability to find lost things. This ability puts her on a collision course with Charlie Manx (Quinto), a seductive immortal who feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland – an icy, twisted Christmas village of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Vic strives to defeat Manx and rescue his victims – without losing her mind or falling victim to him herself.

The series also stars Jahkara Smith, Olafur Darri Olafsson, Virginia Kull and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

NOS4A2’s Season 1 finale airs Sunday, July 28 at 10/9c on AMC. The second season will go into production this fall and debut on AMC in 2020.

“This otherworldy series makes remarkable work of Joe Hill’s spine-tingling novel, deftly helmed by Jami O’Brien and with captivating performances by Zachary Quinto and Ashley Cummings and the rest of the talented cast,” said David Madden, president of programming for AMC, BBC America, IFC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios. NOS4A2 has kept viewers on the edge of their seats since its debut and we are ready to jump right back in to this story for season two.”

“I am so excited for the opportunity to bring the rest of Joe Hill’s amazing novel to television. Joe’s imagination is unparalleled,” O’Brien added. “I love the characters and the world, and our colleagues at AMC have been wonderful partners. I’m grateful to be playing in the NOS4A2 sandbox.”
