Burger King Whoppers As A Severance Package?

When you think about getting fired from a job, do you also think about flame-grilled burgers? Burger King wants you to make that connection.

Here’s how it works: If you post “I got fired. I want a free whopper. #WhopperSeverance” on LinkedIn, you’ll be a sent a link to register for a Whopper severance package in the mail, and that package includes a Burger King gift card.

“We know getting fired sucks, but getting a free Whopper doesn’t,” said Burger King global brand chief Fernando Machado in an email. “So, to showcase the love for the Whopper, we invited people to ‘own their fire’ on LinkedIn. We chose LinkedIn because that’s the website people tend to use as the social platform for careers.”

as part of the Whopper severance package, Burger King “partnered with the career satisfaction experts at The Muse to offer 30-minute one-on-one question and answer sessions to the first 100 participants who post and register,” according to the a statement from the brand, which notes that in the past three years, the chain has created 50,000 new jobs globally.

Heinz Develops Chicago Dog Sauce For The City That Won’t Put Ketchup On Its Hot Dogs

If you put ketchup on your hot dog, you’re not really a Chicagoan.

That truism is at the heart of a new Heinz campaign in which the brand leans into the Windy City’s no-ketchup-on-hot-dogs establishment by trying to develop a new tomato-based “Chicago Dog Sauce.” The hope is that people there actually would put this stuff on their hot dogs—along with the yellow mustard, chopped onions, sweet pickle relish, dill pickle spear, tomato slices, pickled sport peppers and dash of celery salt that make up the classic Chicago dog.

Chicago Dog Sauce, available for a limited time for $5 plus shipping and handling at chicagodogsauce.com, is being put to the test with product sampling throughout the Chicago area.

So, the whole campaign, timed to National Hot Dog Day on Tuesday, is a classic misdirect. Chicago Dog Sauce, with its “delicious red ripe tomatoes and special blend of spices and flavorings,” is really just regular old Heinz ketchup.

Patrón Teams With Guillermo del Toro For New Limited-Edition Tequila

Oscar-nominated film director Guillermo del Toro, has brought his imaginative art to an unlikely canvas, an intricately elaborate, limited-edition release from Patrón tequila.

This partnership marks one of the first collaborations in which del Toro has engaged outside of the entertainment industry, and among a handful of partnerships carefully selected by Patrón over its long history.

The drawings on the packaging were inspired by jimadores, the skilled laborers in Mexico who for generations have hand-harvested and trimmed the Weber Blue Agave that creates tequila centerpiece glass bottle.

Only a very limited number of sets of Patrón x Guillermo del Toro were produced, and are currently available at fine spirits and liquor retailers across the US for the suggested retail price of $399.

Oscar Mayer Wienerfleet

Oscar Mayer is expanding its WienerFleet. The fleet currently consists of the Wienermobile, WienerMini and WienerRover. The team has now added the WienerCycle and WienerDrone. These five unique vehicles will set off on a journey to no better place than Weiner, Arkansas for the ultimate Fourth of July celebration, bringing better hot dogs to the entire town.

“As the most iconic brand, we’re going where other hot dogs can’t. We’re committed to getting our new hot dog in everyone’s hands – and going to great lengths to do this. We knew that was a job for more than just our existing Wienermobile,” said head of marketing at Oscar Mayer, Greg Guidotti. “So, we’ve expanded our Oscar Mayer fleet, ensuring every American can taste the new recipe because we believe everyone deserves a better hot dog.”

The WienerDrone is the first unmanned hot dog-carrying aircraft designed for remote location delivery.

The WienerFleet expansion shows how Oscar Mayer is going to great lengths “for the love of hot dogs,” not only with its new hot dog recipe, but in connecting with consumers over the key grilling season, and getting a better dog in consumers’ hands.

LEGO In-N-Out Burger Restaurant

LEGO Artist Furmania has created this amazing LEGO model of the beloved hamburger restaurant, In-N-Out.

You can vote for it to become an actual LEGO set via the LEGO Ideas Program HERE.

It’s possible that you’re intrigued by what happens behind the counter at a fast food restaurant, and if you love your hamburgers fresh and served up with a side of sunshine, then this Minifig Scale Replica of California’s legendary burger chain would love your support!

The detailed exterior lifts off to reveal the realistic seating layout, front counter, kitchen area, and drive through stations. You can work the grill, build burgers, fill drinks at the Soda Fountain, and cut fries with the Potato Masher!  Everything you love about an In-N-Out Burger is featured here, right down to the tiny restrooms.

In-N-Out Burger is an American, family-owned, chain restaurant found only the sun-soaked regions of the Southwest.  Their menu consists solely of Burgers, Fries, Coca-Cola beverages, and Milkshakes.  Each of these items is served as fresh as possible (there are no freezers or microwaves) and made to order by a staff of workers who always seem to perform their extremely specialized tasks in lock-step synchronization with each other.

Most In-N-Out restaurants have the same basic structure so Furmania worked on building something that was instantly recognizable and realistic while maintaining the charm of a Lego Creator set.
