Watch The Full Trailer For Disney’s The Lion King

Walt Disney Pictures has released the full trailer for The Lion King, offering brand new footage from the film and a first look at some of the classic characters.

Lions rule the African savanna in The Lion King, which welcomes Donald Glover (Atlanta, Solo: A Star Wars Story) as future king Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter (Dreamgirls, “Lemonade” visual album) as Simba’s friend-turned-love interest Nala, and James Earl Jones (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Field of Dreams) as Simba’s wise and loving father, Mufasa, reprising his iconic performance from Disney’s 1994 animated classic. Chiwetel Ejiofor (Twelve Years a Slave, Doctor Strange) was called on to portray Simba’s villainous uncle Scar, and Alfre Woodard (Juanita, Marvel’s Luke Cage) portrays Simba’s no-nonsense mother, Sarabi. JD McCrary (Tyler Perry’s The Paynes, Vital Signs) fills the shoes of Young Simba, a confident cub who can’t wait to be king, and Shahadi Wright Joseph (Hairspray Live, Broadway’s “The Lion King”) brings tough cub Young Nala to life.

Every kingdom comes with a trustworthy advisor or two. John Kani (Coriolanus, Captain America: Civil War) was cast as the wise baboon Rafiki, and John Oliver (Last WeekTonight with John Oliver, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart) was tapped as hornbill Zazu, Mufasa’s loyal confidant. When Simba goes into exile, he relies on two newfound friends—Seth Rogen (Sausage Party, Neighbors) lends his comedic chops to naïve warthog Pumbaa, and Billy Eichner (Billy on the Street, American Horror Story) joins the cast as know-it-all meerkat Timon.

While most of the animals in the kingdom respect the king, the hyenas have other plans. Florence Kasumba (Emerald City, Black Panther) portrays Shenzi, Eric André (The Eric André Show, Man Seeking Woman) is Azizi, and Keegan-Michael Key (Predator, Friends from College) plays Kamari.

Directed by Jon Favreau (The Jungle Book), Disney’s The Lion King opens in theaters July 19.

Watch The First Joker Teaser Trailer

Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first Joker teaser trailer!

The film also stars Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2), Bill Camp (Red Sparrow, Molly’s Game), Frances Conroy (American Horror Story, Castle Rock), Brett Cullen (42, Narcos), Glenn Fleshler (Billions, Barry), Douglas Hodge (Red Sparrow, Penny Dreadful), Marc Maron (Maron, GLOW), Josh Pais (Motherless Brooklyn, Going in Style), and Shea Whigham (First Man, Kong: Skull Island).

Joker centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study but also a broader cautionary tale.

Todd Phillips (The Hangover trilogy) directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with writer Scott Silver (The Fighter), based on characters from DC. The film is being produced by Phillips and Bradley Cooper under their Joint Effort banner, and Emma Tillinger Koskoff. It is executive produced by Richard Baratta, Joseph Garner, and Bruce Berman.

Behind the scenes, Phillips is joined by director of photography Lawrence Sher (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, The Hangover trilogy), production designer Mark Friedberg (Selma, The Amazing Spider-Man 2), editor Jeff Groth (War Dogs, The Hangover Part III), and Oscar-winning costume designer Mark Bridges (Phantom Thread, The Artist).

Joker is set for release on October 4 .

The Little Mermaid: An Immersive Live-to-Film Concert Experience Is Coming To The Hollywood Bowl On May 17 & 18

Disney’s The Little Mermaid Live in Concert is coming to the Hollywood Bowl on May 17 and 18.

The event celebrates the film written and directed by Ron Clements and John Musker with two evenings of music that include Glee’s Lea Michele as Ariel, Mrs. Doubtfire’s Harvey Fierstein as Ursula and Cheech Marin of Cheech and Chong fame who has appeared in Disney films like Coco and the Cars trilogy, appearing as The Little Mermaid’s lobster-loving Chef Louis.

The live show will also feature Peter Gallagher as King Triton, Leo Gallo as Prince Eric and Ken Page as Sebastian, taking place at the “Hollywood Fish Bowl Dive-In Theatre” with plans to remake the iconic venue into an ocean paradise. Music from the Oscar and Grammy-winning score, as well as Broadway’s The Little Mermaid, will be performed by a live orchestra led by conductor Michael Kosarin, followed by an encore from the film’s composer Alan Menken, whose credits include Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Pocahontas.

To recreate the feeling of an underwater night out at the “dive-in,” the evening will include “a full program of aquatically-themed previews of coming attractions, nostalgic animated snack bar commercials and the 1938 Silly Symphony cartoon ‘Merbabies’ featuring the world premiere of a live original score composed and performed by 17-year-old piano sensation Emily Bear,” according to a press release. “Audiences are also invited to participate in a Little Mermaid-themed costume contest and unique photo opportunities to get them in the spirit before the show starts.”

Award-winning creative studio Mousetrappe will utilize projection mapping technology to transforms the facade of the 19,000-capacity venue into an underwater paradise that comes alive with marine life and fauna. Little Mermaid Live is directed by Richard Kraft and produced by Laura Engel & Kraft, Columbia Artists’ Tim Fox and Alison Ahart Williams, and Live Nation’s Andrew Hewitt and Bill Silva, in association with Disney Concerts.

Avengers: Endgame Ticket Sales Break First Day Record Set By Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Following the start of ticket sales this morning, Fandango has announced that Avengers: Endgame has destroyed the competition and set a new record for first day sales in the U.S., breaking the record in the first six hours of sales.

“’Avengers: Endgame’ sales have exceeded all expectations and surpassed ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens,’ the previous record-holder, to become Fandango’s top-selling title in its first 24 hours of sales, and it accomplished that feat in only 6 hours,” Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis points out. “We’ve never seen anything like this – it’s truly a groundbreaking accomplishment – as fans simply cannot wait to see how this epic saga comes to a close.”

The top five movies by first day pre-sales are now: Avengers: Endgame, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Avengers: Infinity War.

Last year’s Avengers: Infinity War saw the titular superhero team take the fight to Thanos in order to stop his attempt at exterminating half of the universe’s population with the Infinity stones. But it was to no avail, as he was able to successfully collect them all and snap his fingers, wiping out half of all life from existence in a cloud of ash.

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, confirmed cast members for the fourth Avengers film so far include Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Sean Gunn, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Katherine Langford and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame will open on April 26.
